Strawberry Fruit Punch

I’m going to warn you. This stuff is dangerous. You get all the sweet, fruity, yumminess found in Hawaiian Fruit Punch, without any of the guilt. I won’t go so far as to say that you’ll be spending your days on the beach in Maui in a bikini after drinking this, but it’s close.

I’m not sure what the secret is. Maybe it’s the apple cider vinegar or maybe it’s the ginger? Could be the beet powder? Who knows? All I know is that these foods combine to form something delicious and that I seem to need to drink it daily!

This was inspired by some of the Good Girl Moonshine (GGMS) recipes I tried when I followed the Trim Healthy Mama (THM) plan. This would be probably be a Fuel Pull, but somebody smarter than me should probably figure that out…I’m too busy being a beach bum.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 T apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 t ground dried ginger
  • 1/2 t beet powder
  • 2 t Super Sweet (from Trim Healthy Mama) or other sugar free sweetener equal to 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 t orange extract
  • Dash pink Himalayan salt
  • carbonated unsweetened strawberry flavored water I use Clear American from Wal-Mart
  • water

Instructions
 

  • Add apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, beet powder, sweetener and salt to a quart-size mason jar.  Mix thoroughly.  (I use my coffee frother.)
  • Add enough ice to fill the jar about half full.
  • Add the carbonated strawberry water.
  • Fill the rest of the jar with water.
  • Stir and enjoy!

Thinking of skipping the beet powder? Think twice. Beets have been known to help with digestion, high blood pressure, and inflammation and are also a good source of magnesium.

The beet powder also gives this drink it’s beautiful color and you can also use it in many other types of sauces and drinks.
